Weak Urine Flow

Weak urine flow describes a reduced strength or slower stream when passing urine. It may feel as though the bladder is not emptying efficiently, and the time taken to urinate may be longer than usual.

This symptom is commonly linked to obstruction of urine flow, often due to an enlarged prostate (BPH). As the prostate increases in size, it can narrow the urethra and restrict the passage of urine. Other causes may include urethral narrowing or bladder function changes.

Weak urine flow may occur on its own or alongside other symptoms such as difficulty starting urination, intermittent flow, or incomplete emptying. Over time, it can become more noticeable and inconvenient.

When this symptom becomes persistent or progressively worsens, it may indicate that further assessment is needed to understand the degree of obstruction and explore suitable management options.
